Canadian Research Knowledge Network Conference October 18th

On October 18th, 2019, VPIA team member Brendan Griebel was a presenter and panellist at the Canadian Research Knowledge Network, where he discussed the VPIA’s project’s approach to decolonizing metadata, and encouraging the digital contributions of Indigenous populations. The session on Sharing Digital Heritage Through Technology brought together representatives from a range of organizations who explored how they provide access to digital content (particularly for Indigenous communities), how they take steps to preserve content, and how they are training the next generation of digital archivists and historians.
