Experimental 3D Photogrammetry Workshop at the ROM Friday, February 28th, 2020
On February 28th, 2020, members of the VPIA team were invited to host an experimental 3D photogrammetry workshop with Arni Brownstone of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, Ontario to have a closer look at two of the collection’s works that are representative of the larger Entangled Gaze research project and theme at Wapatah. During this 3-hour workshop, VPIA developer Yiyi Shao photographed the works as part of the VPIA’s first, experimental step into AR as Arni Brownstone offered insight and further knowledge and stories about the history of the two pieces.
Arni Brownstone is the assistant curator of Plains Culture and the curator responsible for the ethnographic collections from the Americas at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, Ontario. His scholarly focus is on the visual culture of the northern Plains with a special interest in Plains pictographic painting.
