McCord Museum Workshop with Eric Tootoosis November 4th-7th 2019
In collaboration with the McCord Museum, Boite Rouge VIF, and Eric Tootoosis, the VPIA team hosted a workshop to better visualize Indigenous interpretations, language and contexts for Indigenous artworks in museum collections. The project doubled as an opportunity to conduct user experience testing and design for Wapatah’s Virtual Platform for Indigenous Art.
Working between historical Plains Cree artworks and Plains Cree knowledge keeper Eric Tootoosis, the project documented the rich ecosystems of language and knowledge that animate each of the collection’s artworks.
